Meet Your 2025 Board | A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Dear Seminole Cyclists Member: Our cycling club will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025, and we hope you are excited about the direction Seminole Cyclists is headed. We have great things on our horizon with fundraisers, Tour de Cure ride, swap meet, the Tony Awards, and much more! In 20 years, Seminole Cyclists has grown from a small group of friends, gathering to ride bikes safely, to a sizable non-profit club that operates more than 400 group rides a year, as well as special events and gatherings to bring our cycling community closer. Just think, our Facebook group has more than 1,500 members! As you might imagine, a club of this size requires a strong leadership team, and it requires consistent financial support. That’s why our club formally incorporated in August of 2020 and named its first Board of Directors. Our club's board is working hard to increase sponsorship opportunities and stabilize club finances so we can continue to promote and grow as the best and safest cycling club in Central Florida. For these reasons, we have taken an initiative of rededicating ourselves to safe riding practices, including a recent increase in the number of ride marshals along with offering/accommodating more rides of various levels. On the road, our marshals are our front-line leaders. Our club cannot succeed without strong leadership. But we also can’t succeed without YOU, our dedicated members! So, while we cherish our legacy as friends riding together, we recognize that change MUST occur to improve and protect our club. At the start of each calendar year, our membership dues are required by all that join our rides regularly. The membership gives you a host of benefits that include: participating in our rides, attending our social events, discounts at local bike shops, exclusive online updates about special events, access to Seminole Cyclists-branded apparel, and much more. For details about 2025 membership benefits, please visit: Member Benefits The collection of annual dues and our incorporation as a Florida nonprofit club are a logical progression as Seminole Cyclists strengthens its financial footing and leadership structure. Going forward, we will also require the signing of a club agreement and waiver, to be a member in good standing. Many cycling clubs locally and nationwide have taken these same steps to provide greater benefits to members and more transparency to club sponsors. We strive to keep Seminole Cyclists as the “Premier cycling club in Central Florida.” To do this, we will continue to focus on safety and inclusiveness while retaining the friendly, fun spirit on which the club was founded. Thank you, and we’ll see you out on the bike soon! Seminole Cyclists Cycling Club, Inc. Jacobo Badia, VP |
