ReScheduled - SC Legends Ride Honoring Bob Hadden on Dec 4th

The SEMINOLE Cyclists lost a member of our cycling family to cancer in October. Even though we only found out about Bob’s condition about two weeks prior, the cancer was too aggressive and too far advanced. Bob passed peacefully at home, on Oct. 20, with loved ones by his side.

Bob joined our club in 2007-08. He was new to cycling, as we could tell by his T-shirt, gym shorts, hybrid bike and the cigarette he just finished to do the ride with us.

But by September 2008, Bob had tuned his training, his attire and bike ride and had his eyes on taking on the 6 Gap challenge, with many of our team joining him.

From the friendships he made with us, he conquered many other amazing journeys, from mountain rides, marathons, Ragnar running relays, triathlons and Ironman events, to jumping out of airplanes and much more. Throughout the journey, his signature smile never wavered. We were the fortunate ones to have shared a laugh, some miles or a cold beer with Bob.

So on this Legends ride, we invite our cycling family, from past and present, to join us in paying tribute and remembering our buddy Bob Hadden as we make our way on an epic quest around the same familiar roads of Seminole County.

Dust off your bikes, pump up those tires, find a new (or vintage!) SC jersey, then join us for a legendary reunion ride down memory lane.

Scheduled for Saturday, Dec 4th, from Lake Mary’s Fresh Market parking lot at 7:30 a.m. rolling.
