Head for the Hills - Clermont Hills That Is...
(Sunday
, September 1, 2024, 7:30am)

This Labor Day weekend, we are headed to do some Florida mountain climbing in Clermont. We are doing a 33mile route with about 2000ft of climbing...that is if you only do the route as attached. (Some do a few repeats on Sugarloaf for added fun! Or stay after and do another lap!)

We are starting from the Green Mountain Scenic Overlook Trailhead and rolling at 7:30am, taking on Sugarloaf, Buckhill and then out to Howey-in-the-Hills with a return trip down the Wall to finish.

This is a fun and challenging ride where those that have joined in the past have a diverse set of riding levels (20 constant and above level riding). We regroup at certain points during the ride. This is meant to be a training type ride for those doing Six Gap and Greenville Gran Fondo rides - but not limited too.

We will be regrouping after each climb, with a 15-18mph pace depending on those coming out to participate. Give 2hrs to complete the route.

NOTE: 15-18mph in Clermont is a much harder pace than the B-Nice 18-20mph

We are riding rain or shine. There are men's and women's bathrooms at the trailhead to change afterwards. Come out for the fun! — at Green Mountain Scenic Overlook and Trailhead (Lake County, Florida).
